I loved this book as a kid and also read it to my kid brother later who loved it too. I just found it on Amazon 20yrs later as a gift for my friends kid and he also loved it. I think the artwork of the fuzzy little caterpillars are especially cute, and I'd say the illustrations are what I remembered most from this book from my childhood that sent me on an Amazon search for this book two decades later.

Charlie keeps being rejected because he is an "ugly caterpillar". Little do they know that the beautiful butterfly they now see and want to befriend, is the same Charlie. And Charlie knows they really aren't friends when they can only see the outside. Preschoolers love the book (and the audio version).
My favorite kids book for many years! I lost my copy a while back and this was just a replacement. Adorable story easy for kids to understand, fun humor that makes Charlie more endearing, and really great illustrations. I will always have a copy around! I enjoy reading it as much as the kids.
My kids read this book while vacationing for spring break. I was not able to find it locally. This copy was in good condition but more importantly, the story is adorable and my kids were thrilled to have their own version now at home. Great find!

I have been reading this book to my first born daughter since she was 5 she is now 15 and I read it to her class as guest reader. Now with my second daughter now 6 I read it to her class as guest reader and she loves it and both classes and teachers love the book. The story is so important, there are so many lessons learned in the book I would recommend that every child read this book at least once! I know you will fall in love with it and it will be a family tradition passed down like it is to us!
A wonderful book to discuss what counts in life and it is not beauty. I have read this book countless times to my classes. It is part of my personal library. Illustrations are heart warming as well as the meaning of friendship.
Of course! We purchased it as a remembrance gift for my granddaughter's 17th birthday. She and her 'bampa' had a standing 'Wednesday at the library' date when she was a little girl and this was one of their favorite books. In good weather they would walk the 4 blocks down the hill to the library. After reading and playing together, a cold drink from the nearby grocery store, he would carry her back home, up the hill for the 4 blocks, with their choice of library books until the next week. Wonderful memories!
